Marco Arnaboldi was responsible for the fast deep-V hull lines and the sporty exterior styling. AB Yachts laminated the hull and superstructure as a glass fibre sandwich with Kevlar and carbon reinforcements in areas subject to particular stress.

In any case, the structure is under strain. This is ensured by three MTU diesels with a combined output of 5370 kilowatts, which act on three waterjets and accelerate the AB 116, built according to RINA rules, to a maximum of 50 knots. The shipyard specifies a cruising speed of 44 knots.
