Marcus Blackmore built up a vitamin empire in Australia and has been an enthusiastic regatta sailor since his youth. Once again, the "Ammonite" owner opted for teak in the cockpit and on the superstructure and gelcoat on the running decks and foredeck - to make cleaning easier for his crew and to save weight. However, the displacement of 58.8 tonnes is primarily the result of a lightweight carbon-epoxy laminate that surrounds a Corecell core.

The interior with owner's cabin in the bow and three guest accommodations was created by Nauta Design, certainly again with the typical yellow colour accents and fossil/shell references. After completing various trial runs in Table Bay, "Ammonite" will sail to Australia at the end of September. Owner Blackmore plans to take part in the Millennium Cup in New Zealand with the 31 metres in February.
