Following the Askeladden brand’s financial difficulties in August 2026, there is now some positive news from Norway. Two companies have acquired parts of the trademark rights, moulds and intangible assets of the insolvent Askeladden Boats AS from the creditor bank, DNB Bank ASA – and intend to jointly relaunch the long-established brand.

Parker Poland: A global player with Askeladden DNA

The Polish company Parker Poland Sp. z o.o.. has acquired the trademark rights, domain names and all intangible assets relating to the Askeladden brand. Parker Poland is thus positioning itself as a global player in boat building – with two strong brands: Parker and Askeladden.

Parker Poland focuses on the development of outboard boats measuring between 7 and 14 metres. All products resulting from the former partnership between Parker and Askeladden will continue to be manufactured by Model Art Sp. z o.o. in Ostróda, Poland.

For the Nordic market, Parker Poland is seeking a partnership with Mercury Marine – both for the distribution and the powertrains of future Askeladden models. Parker Poland is already working on a new Nordic distribution network for the Askeladden brand.

Norsk Modell og Formplast: Fenix lives on

The second company in the partnership is Norsk Modell og Formplast AS – the sole manufacturer of the Askeladden Fenix C66BR to date. The company has acquired the trademark rights and moulds specifically for this model and intends to develop it further.

The Fenix C66BR is no stranger to the scene: the model was named Boat of the Year at the ‘Båter i Sjøen’ boat show in Oslo at the end of August 2026.

Norsk Modell og Formplast AS will in future focus on developing a range of Nordic-style outboard boats under 7 metres in length – from leisure boats to sport fishing boats. Under a licensing agreement with Parker Poland, these boats will be marketed under the name Askeladden.
