The steel/aluminium displacer from the computers of the in-house design and engineering offices is powered by a diesel-electric propulsion package, with two 2800 kilowatt electric motors from Rolls Royce feeding eight C32 diesel gensets from Caterpillar. They deliver a maximum of 1175 kilovolt-amperes and also act on electric bow and stern thrusters. Benetti's engineers forecast a top speed of 18.5 knots and a range of 5500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of twelve knots. FB277 has a pool on the sundeck, spa area including hammam and gym, and a touch & go helipad on the foredeck. The owner's flat extends over the aft bridge deck and is enlarged by two mirrored balconies. The main deck, which is up to 15.20 metres wide, is dominated by seven double cabins adjoining the saloon. A spiral staircase with atrium connects the decks. The crew quarters for up to 18 people take up half of the lower deck and small parts of the tank deck. Imperial Yachts supervised the construction for the owner and is responsible for the management of FB277. Benetti plans to launch two further 100-metre formats in the coming months. This was preceded by investments totalling 15 million euros, including in two new halls with steel structures at the Livorno site. Delivery of the 107-metre Giga, which displaces 3300 tonnes and is LY3-certified, is planned for this summer.
