The owner of the first B145 had the interior volume of just under 500 gross tonnes filled with a six-cabin layout. The master suite stretches across the full width of the main deck and measures 9.70 metres from outside window to outside window. Five double cabins are arranged on the lower deck, where a 25 square metre beach club can be opened aft on both sides. In typical Bering fashion, the tenders are parked on the aft upper deck.
Heeus" travels the world with ten crew members, with Bering specially reinforcing the steel hull for voyages in icy regions. Two fin stabilisers on each side of the hull ensure comfort in rough seas. The twin electric motors of the hybrid propulsion system are fed by two Caterpillar diesel generators with variable speeds and an output of 895 kilowatts each. Bering has calculated a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of twelve knots for the 44-metre explorer. The battery bank should allow fully electric mooring manoeuvres. As "Heeus" has 95,600 litres of fuel, non-stop journeys of more than 5,000 nautical miles are promised.
Bering Yachts is on the upswing. The office in Monaco has sold two models that are already under construction: A 38-metre B125 and a 26-metre B80 are due to be delivered to customers from Europe in 2024. A B65 was also sold to a German owner, who had the exterior and interior redesigned for a modern look and feel and will be launched in 2023. Bering is working on a total of 16 yachts in Turkey, four of which are earmarked for delivery in Antalya this year.
