Bilgin executes 80-metre shark

Bilgin Yachts is still one knot short of the top speed listed in the technical specifications. Two 2560-kilowatt MTU diesels, each certified to IMO Tier III, are at work in the engine room. The lines were designed by the Turkish studio Unique Yacht Design; the grey hull with tapered bow section and the gill-like air outlets evoke a certain shark-like appearance. The interior of "Tatiana" was developed by H2 Yacht Design. The Brits describe the look as "timeless understatement in a special layout".

The construction sites at the Istanbul shipyard are also more than full. Two more 80-metre yachts and an 85-metre format are being built there. A 67-metre Spec project is also under construction. Bilgin Yachts is thus preparing to become a serious competitor for Western European large yacht shipyards.
