The steel/aluminium displacer is the sixth exterior design commission that Oceanco has realised together with Nuvolari Lenard. The creative duo of naval architect Carlo Nuvolari and designer Dan Lenard were inspired by their 82-metre Oceanco "Alfa Nero", which can be recognised by the pool on the aft deck, the flat superstructure and the elegantly slim profile. On the 16.30 metre wide "Bravo", however, an opposite distribution of the centre of gravity can be observed: The superstructure is more concentrated at the stern, the foredeck remains free and the stem is almost plumb. The owner entrusted the interior design to Reymond Langton Design.
"Bravo" is the first product to emerge from Oceanco's strategic partnership with Lateral Naval Architects. The offshoot of the shipbuilding firm BMT Nigel Gee is the first to realise a holistic concept that intelligently interlinks the displacement, the propulsion system and the interior fittings for increased efficiency. The single-stage engine room with a full hybrid drive forms the centrepiece. This should also be able to move the 109 metres fully electrically in battery mode, but primarily feeds the on-board power grid. The upcoming tests on the North Sea will show how efficient the sleek hull of "Bravo" really is.
