Regent is the name of a US aircraft manufacturer from the state of Massachusetts. Its all-electric ground effect vehicle utilises the higher buoyancy force in the immediate vicinity of the water surface.

Viceroy is 17.50 metres long, has a wingspan of just under 20 metres, is said to cost half as much as aircraft and is 30 decibels quieter than them. Four electric motors, each with 120 kilowatts of power, rotate on each wing, which, in combination with the air cushion, should enable 156-knot flights. The maximum range is stated as 180 nautical miles, although the capacity of the batteries is not specified. The Viceroy, which displaces a good 15 tonnes, only lifts off via the T-foils at the bow and stern during take-off and when moving close to the harbour. The hull is characterised by a deep V to comfortably cushion high touchdown speeds.

The start-up is certain of financial backing from venture capitalists, and a 1:4 scale prototype has been flying since 2022. Orders totalling over 7.9 billion US dollars have already been received from airlines and ferry companies.
