Six units of the Tim Heywood design are already afloat. Two more Amels 242s are under construction, one of which is still waiting for a buyer. One reason for the high sales of the 74-metre model is the beach club located amidships, a wish of the owner of construction number one. It is 75 square metres in size and 2.20 metres high, can also be reached by lift, and creates space for a 1.70 metre deep pool on the aft deck. On the inside, Winch Design created the "Shadow" project for an owner who lives on the deck below the bridge and has exclusive access to a jacuzzi at the front. The sixth Amels 242 is scheduled to leave Vlissingen later this year, with up to 16.5 knots and nitrogen oxide aftertreatment in accordance with IMO Tier III.
