GCA Architects from Barcelona supplied the interior design, while the exterior lines were created by the Perini Navi design team. The hull and rig calculations for the S/Y 42m E-volution GTS were carried out by Reichel/Pugh, a design office known for its fast sail formats. The abbreviation GTS stands for increased sportiness compared to the standard E-volution version, of which Perini is currently building one on speculation. The S/Y 42m GTS is intended for an owner with regatta ambitions and relies on a fixed bowsprit, has 1.50 metres more draught with the lifting keel extended to 7.40 metres and is said to be 30 tonnes lighter at 220 tonnes thanks to the carbon superstructure. Instead of 56.50 metres, the carbon mast of the GTS reaches 62.50 metres into the sky. The 1251 square metre sail laminate (on the wind) will be set for the first time in spring 2021.
Perini Navi recently announced the sale of an S/Y 47m E-volution. The Italian shipyard had already made a speculative start on the construction of the 47-metre aluminium slup at its site in Tuzla, Turkey. The Italian shipyard is also working on a classic 60-metre ketch and two motor yachts: an M/Y 53m Voyager and a 56m Voyager, both in design cooperation with Vitruvius Yachts, the brand of builder and designer Philippe Briand.
