Heesen builds 80 metre flagship

Project "Cosmos" is set to replace the 70-metre-long "Galactica Super Nova" as Heesen's flagship and, at 80.07 metres in length, will be the largest aluminium yacht in the world powered by a conventional propeller. The hull of the fast displacer is being optimised by the hydrodynamics experts from the Van Oossanen design office. Four 20-cylinder MTUs will accelerate Project "Cosmos" to a speed of 29 knots. Twelve guests are accommodated in four suites on the lower deck, a VIP cabin on the bridge deck and the owner's cabin on the forward main deck. Equipment highlights include a helipad, open-air cinema and a glass lift. Delivery is planned for 2022.
