The Dutch shipyard began building the semi-custom format in summer 2015 and found a customer via Camper & Nicholsons after six months. Designer Francesco Paszkowski, who works in Florence, created an interior with a traditional layout for "VanTom": the owner's suite is located at the front on the main deck, while five cabins on the lower deck can accommodate up to twelve guests. The handover to the owner was preceded by stormy sea trials on the wintry North Sea, during which the aluminium hull exceeded the calculated top speed of 23 knots by 0.3 knots. Two MTU gensets each deliver 2880 kilowatts of power to two propellers. At a speed of eleven knots, "VanTom" covers a maximum of 3100 nautical miles.
