Heesen Yachts is thus alluding to the shipyard's success and the Chinese New Year, which begins in February and is under the sign of the ox - a symbol of hard work in the Chinese horoscope. However, the shipyard's golden annual mascot also refers to the place where Heesen is based. Oss is the Dutch word for ox, and a large sculpture at the entrance to the town is a reminder of this.
In 2021, Heesen plans to hand over a total of six yachts with a cumulative length of 315 metres and a total volume of 3816 gross tonnes to owners. There are currently 14 yachts under construction, five of which were sold last year alone.
The year of the golden ox is ushered in with the launch of the almost 50-metre-long "Aquamarine" project, the first unit of the newly designed 5000 Aluminum Class platform. In August and October respectively, Heesen joins the hulls and superstructures of the custom projects "Skyfall" (60 metres) and "Sparta" (67 metres). The highlight of the year will be the launch of the 80-metre-long "Cosmos" project in November.
