The striking exterior is based on that of "Home" (issue 3/18), with which Heesen introduced a new construction platform four years ago. The silhouette developed by Frank Laupman from Omega Architects is characterised by the slightly negative stem with its large spray rails. Cristiano Gatto designed a large part of the room volume of just under 500 gross tonnes, including, of course, the social areas and the six cabins for twelve guests.
Unlike "Home", "Altea" relies on a conventional solution with two 1080 kilowatt MTU engines (12V 2000 M72) instead of a hybrid propulsion package. For the sea trials in May, Heesen's engineers expect a top speed of 19.5 knots and a range of 3,750 nautical miles at twelve knots. Heesen Yachts could deliver the 49.80 metre long project "Altea" to a new owner in June, just in time for the start of the summer season.
