A new chapter begins for Josef Reich GmbH, a renowned manufacturer of aluminium workboats. After 31 years, Randy Buhmann is taking over the management of the company, which is relocating to Lake Constance. With many years of experience and a new infrastructure, the shipyard is optimistic about the future.

After more than three decades of successful operation, Josef Reich GmbH is facing a significant change. The renowned manufacturer of high-quality aluminium workboats will be managed by Randy Buhmann in future. This change in management marks the beginning of a new chapter for the company, which has built up an excellent reputation in the industry over the past 31 years. The change at the top is also accompanied by a geographical change: Josef Reich GmbH is relocating to Lake Constance in the border triangle in order to benefit from the first-class infrastructure and proximity to customers throughout the DACH region.

Experienced successor with nautical expertise

Randy Buhmann brings extensive expertise and valuable experience from the nautical industry to his new position. His expertise will make a decisive contribution to keeping the company on course and developing it further. The new Managing Director sees it as his task to continue the long-standing tradition of Josef Reich GmbH and at the same time provide new impetus. He emphasises that he will take the personal concerns of customers seriously and will be available as a direct point of contact.

The move to Lake Constance brings numerous advantages for Josef Reich GmbH. The company is moving into new shipyard halls that will enable it to continue delivering first-class quality. The modern infrastructure and central location in the border triangle of Germany, Austria and Switzerland create the ideal conditions for intensifying customer proximity throughout the German-speaking region. This strategic positioning promises even more efficient customer service and opens up new opportunities for growth and innovation.

Ralf Marquard discovered his enthusiasm for boating on the tranquil Aller, first with inflatable boats and later with a 6-meter cabin cruiser. His electrical engineering studies at HAW Hamburg took him from the southern Heidekreis (Lower Saxony) to the Hanseatic city. Ralf Marquard has been working for the BOOTE editorial team since 1997, where he trained as a test editor. He tests both small inflatable boats and larger yachts. His personal boat is a 4.50 meter long, self-built wooden boat with a 50 hp outboard motor. In 2007, he was appointed deputy editor-in-chief at BOOTE.
