Southern Wind Shipyard launched "Grande Orazio", number two of its latest model.
The lines of the 24.72 metre long Slup were drawn by the American studio Farr Yacht Design, while the interior was designed by the Nauta team.
The South African yacht builders laminated the blue-water cruiser, which weighs just 40 tonnes, as a sandwich with carbon fibre and Kevlar layers on a foam core using the vacuum infusion process.
315 square metres of sail area will move the SW 82 upwind, with a Steyr diesel engine doing the slack work.
