While the "Alibaba" project was about to be launched, the 160-metre "Blue" project was already undergoing sea trials in the North Sea.

Lürssen naturally caused quite a stir in the region with the week-long trial run of Project "Blue". After all, it travelled 160 metres across the Weser and through the German Bight. The stern section of a hitherto unknown newbuild also took to the water, albeit without getting wet; length estimates range from 115 to over 130 metres. The project name "Alibaba" made the rounds on social media. The plan was - the welded-on buoyancy aids provide information about this - to enter the water via a helgen, but this is said to have been damaged in a ship collision. So the route led via rails onto a heavy-duty pontoon to the front section, which was waiting to be welded together on land. With regard to the 145-metre "Luminance" project, which is already in a hall, rumours are intensifying that the presumed client Rinat Akhmetov wants to sell it while it is still under construction. The New York Times quotes an adviser to the Ukrainian steel magnate, who also owns the plant in Mariupol.
