The 55 metres were launched in Rendsburg. The Bannenberg & Rowell design may have manageable dimensions by Lürssen standards, but it has a volume of 840 gross tonnes.

55 metres, the last time Lürssen built a similarly "small" yacht was ten years ago with the 61-metre "Lady Kathryn V". Nevertheless, the non-giga segment is by no means the exception for the Bremen shipyard group: of 146 yachts built - the figures refer to the beginning of 2020 - 18 per cent were over 90 metres long and 82 per cent under 90 metres.

For Project 13800, the owner commissioned the London studio Bannenberg & Rowell to design the exterior and interior. Dickie Bannenberg says: "The initial concept was influenced by studies based on 'Carinthia VI', which was designed by my father and built by Lürssen in 1973. Every inch of interior and exterior space utilisation had to be presented and agreed with the owners, which led to many inspiring discussions. We are very much looking forward to the completion and the spectacular interior."

The 10.20 metre wide steel-aluminium format will have an unusual interior layout and will become a new flagship for Lürssen in the 55 to 75 metre yacht segment. Peter Lürssen, Managing Partner, comments: "We are very grateful for the customer's trust in us to build his dream of a customised 55-metre yacht. We have fantastic experience with yachts of this size and it has been a very fruitful collaboration so far." The 55-metre format is due to be launched this summer - exactly three years after the owner signed the construction contract with Lürssen.
