The fact that the "Nord" owner commissioned Nuvolari Lenard with the exterior design should be immediately apparent to the trained eye. After all, the design studio from Veneto is known for keeping masts in black, creating a bridge from the superstructure to the hull and locating the pool right at the stern on the main deck. It remains to be seen whether the aircraft carrier-style bow will follow suit. Dan Lenard, who also worked on the interior with his team, comments on the creative process: "'Nord' was designed with an idea in mind: It should evoke strong emotions in every viewer, not just through sheer size, but through the design itself. No one should be left cold," says Lenard. "Whether you like the design or not, it stands out. Nord goes beyond traditional yacht design. She is a warship wearing a dinner jacket, an explorer with the elegance of a gentleman's yacht. We have taken a new direction in yacht design."
Peter Lürssen's parting words were: "At Lürssen, we believe it is important to work as a team when building a yacht, and it takes an excellent team to deliver such a comprehensive project," emphasised Lürssen's Managing Partner. "We look forward to 'Nord' finding her place among her peers as a remarkable statement in large yacht building based on strong design and expert engineering." Moran Yacht & Ship of Fort Lauderdale oversaw the complex construction, which took under four years.
AIS services indicate that the 141.60 metres are on their way to the northern Mediterranean after a refuelling stop in Gibraltar and will certainly pay a visit to Monaco.
