The Oceano 50, which weighs less than 500 gross tonnes, was launched in Pisa. Alberto Mancini brought the steel hull and aluminium superstructure into shape.

The first 49.90 metre long unit in the series, which ranges from 39 to 60 metres, has a special feature in the foredeck. With the hatch open and the tender parking space empty, the 6.50 x 2.60 x 1.30 metre basin is immersed in water and becomes a veritable pool thanks to the counter-current system. After a swim, you can relax at the opposite end of the yacht on the 68 square metres of the beach club. The main deck features the classic sequence of owner's suite, galley and saloon. The spacious aft cockpit surprises with a transverse glass strip in the floor. The lower deck has two VIP cabins and two double cabins as well as a gym that extends across the full width of the aft deck. The interior proposals were submitted by the in-house design department.

When the two MTU gensets with their total output of 2536 kilowatts are running at full load, the engineers at P.L.A.N.A. Design predict a top speed of 16 knots. From July, the owner of construction number one will be travelling 4500 nautical miles non-stop at cruising speeds of eleven knots. His Oceano 50 is also equipped with electric zero-speed stabilisers. Mangusta is currently building two more 49.90 metre displacement vessels.
