Alia Yachts plans to put the 16,000 square metres into operation as early as July 2019. The complex extends over an entire street block and comprises five halls with building spaces of up to 90 metres each. Two halls allow a construction height of 22 metres including radar masts. Interiors for Dutch and Australian shipyards will also continue to be built at Alia's Mediterranean site. "This expansion will help us to achieve three important goals," says Gökhan Çelik, the director of the shipyard he founded in 2008. "Firstly, we are increasing our production capacity and can work on several projects at the same time. Secondly, we will be able to build much larger projects than before and we want to be more active in the refit sector."
