With 163 orders for a cumulative length of 5,924 metres, the Azimut Benetti Group remains the undisputed leader of the superyacht shipyards in 2026. This also means a comfortable lead over Sanlorenzo in second place.

Following a general normalisation and stabilisation of the market environment, the shipyard group's books show a turnover of EUR 1.5 billion and a market share of 23% for the past financial year. Giovanna Vitelli and her team therefore believe they are ideally equipped for a strategic reorientation at Benetti.

Benetti grows and grows

Innovation, quality, reliability and a trusting relationship between the shipyard and owners are the cornerstones of a value-driven corporate strategy with which Benetti wants to position itself firmly in the slipstream of the quality and value-orientated northern European giga shipyards. At the same time, it sets itself apart from the rest of the Italian and Turkish shipyard brands, which Benetti boss Massimiliano Casoni sees as part of a price-driven strategy.

Their success proves them right: Benetti is growing and growing. "For the period 2026/2027, we expect balanced growth in all regions, as the market is increasingly focussing on long-term value retention and absolute quality," explains Daniela Petrozzi, Head of Sales at Benetti. "We remain optimistic about the coming years, supported by the increasing global appeal of the brand and the particularly positive momentum on the European market."

Largest active yacht shipyard in the world

In Viareggio, 1,600 employees build primarily GRP hulls on 98,000 square metres of shipyard space. This is also where Yachtique's designers advise owners on the selection and design of interiors. The site in Livorno is truly enormous: with 240,000 square metres, 36,000 of which are covered, the company is the largest active yacht shipyard in the world. A separate floating dock for the refit and repair brand Lusben has been lifting giga formats of up to 120 metres ashore for several years.

Benetti itself does everything in its power to cultivate its image as a trendsetter with a sure instinct for owner's dreams. The "Oasis Deck", which is positioned as low as possible aft and can be extended sideways by folding side walls, has become a firm Benetti trademark that has taken up the desire for immediate proximity to the water and has been constantly developed further since its introduction.

More solar shading and smooth transitions

Two further trends currently determine the design philosophy of the new projects and are realised differently from model to model: Firstly, the desire for more and flexible sun protection, which is fulfilled in the veranda deck or, interpreted differently, on the formats with cabana deck.

Secondly, it is the idea of breaking up the structure of fixed spaces and areas on the decks and allowing them to merge seamlessly into one another. One example of this is the veranda deck of the new Motopanfilo 45M.

Order backlog until 2029

According to the latest information, the shipyard's order backlog extends well into 2029, while all product lines are to be modernised by 2028. Four new formats are already in the catalogue for 2026. On the Oasis 42M, a large beach club frames the pool, which can be closed off if required.

The owner couple look out from the island bed aft onto the private, directly connected terrace. The huge Oasis Deck, which can be extended on both sides, has increased in size and, at 100 square metres, corresponds to the area that was previously only possible on 50-metre formats.

B.Loft 58M: floating beach villa

Three units of the model have already been sold. Two further orders have been received for the new B.Now 52M. It rounds off the popular series with a total of over 20 units sold and deliberately remains below the magic threshold of 500 Gross Tons.

The absolute highlight is the main deck, which promises uninterrupted openness and transparency across 45 metres. According to the shipyard jargon, this creates an "infinite main deck sea-terrace" that provides an unobstructed view from the pool at the stern to the bow terrace, which can be used as a tender garage or gym as required.

The B.Loft 58M is designed as a floating beach villa: A 70-square-metre sky lounge with a height of 3.5 metres dominates the almost lavish feeling of space on the upper deck. Aft, the partially covered, laterally extendable cabana deck welcomes guests with direct access to the VIP cabins. The split-level concept promises flowing transitions between living spaces and decks with an urban look.

Rethought: Hybrid yacht B.Neos 40M

The latest addition is the B.Neos 40M, a fully integrated hybrid yacht. "With B.Neos, we have not simply designed a new product; we have rethought the entire owner experience to reduce complexity.

The result is a yacht with a slim, low-looking silhouette," says Giovanna Vitelli. Open, continuous and flexible on the inside, it is intended to provide the answer to a family-orientated lifestyle. The galley can be used as an open-plan eat-in kitchen or as a service area for formal dinners. The owner's family enjoys complete privacy from the separate balcony facing the bow.

However, the technical highlight of the model with a room height of 2.40 metres on the main deck and an open "sea atrium" area around the pool is the drive concept with four modes for maximum range and performance, quiet manoeuvring at night and silent hotel operation.

The data sheet promises diesel consumption of just 22 litres per hour over an average weekend and a 30 percent reduction in fuel consumption overall. Head of Sales Daniela Petrozzi reports great interest in the market for this independent concept.
