Nautor was extremely productive during the long Finnish winter and now showed the carbon hulls of the Maxi Swan 98 and 120.

At the BTC (Boat Technology Centre) in Jakobstad, the 29.60 metre and 36.50 metre long blue water formats were laminated with prepreg carbon, which is processed dry and whose epoxy resin hardens in the oven. Both are being built to owner's order, and Nautor's Swan has already sold two more units of the 98. Both the 98 and the 120 were designed by Germán Frers, the in-house designer of Nautor's cruising line. The Argentinian prescribed modern lines with a wide, yet slightly constricting stern. Both new developments are primarily blue water sailing boats. Nautor now strictly separates performance and leisure sailing, and regatta yachts can be found in the Club Swan line.

The characteristic cockpit coamings, which Nautor first introduced on the Swan 78, are also intended to provide a high level of cruising comfort. In contrast to the 78, these are completely clad in teak in both cases, while the sprayhood and bimini increase weather protection. Misa Poggi was responsible for the interior design of the 98 and the 120. The Italian designer developed three styling options for the 98: "Traditional Navy" with teak and navy blue, "Wine Cowes" with Cowes red and Canaletto walnut and "Timeless Classical White" dominated by grape oak. "Spirit of Finland" is a fourth classic Scandinavian interior designed by Nautor. The first Maxi Swan 98 is due to be completed this year.
