Oceanco searched for a suitable shipyard site for nine years. In the past, the Heerema Fabrication Group mainly welded offshore platforms in two 50 metre wide halls on the 114,000 square metre site. Oceanco uses the 204 and 132 metre long halls for painting work, the installation of large components and for the assembly of hulls and superstructures. In future, steel hulls will also be built and refits will be carried out here. The outfitting of all Oceanco formats will continue to take place in Alblasserdam. In Zwijndrecht, the large yacht shipyard also plans to establish an academy for internal training and a base for suppliers, the "Superyacht Brain Park".
