Palladium: 96 metres of organic shapes
When Michael Leach and Mark Smith from Michael Leach Design (MLD) began the "Orca" project, they had no idea that a five-year task awaited them.

Smith brought infectious enthusiasm with him. He helped the Blohm+Voss engineers to accomplish feats. The curved superstructures are one of the obvious highlights. The designers first had each curve prepared as a foam model.

The result of this process was then incorporated into the AutoCAD system. It was modelled on the organic shapes of marine animals. The project name "Palladium" was therefore nicknamed "Orca". Today, dorsal fins do indeed appear around the mast.

Directly connected to this, guests will find a spa in front, equipped with sauna, steam bath and massage facilities. The owner's cabin is considered the holy of holies. Only a few people other than the crew are allowed access. The owner wanted a clear height. When the electric blinds open below the glass ceiling, the sky shines.

Two organically shaped, spiral-shaped and leather-covered columns flank the bed with its mattress area of over five square metres. It is the centre of the room, the focus of the furnishings. The view ahead shows a teak-clad foredeck, a stage. The quality of his yacht as a base for all kinds of water sports is important to the owner. Numerous water bikes, kayaks and diving equipment are on board. Michael Leach and Blohm + Voss were asked to deliver a very unusual yacht. And they succeeded
