The shipyard, known for its classic sailing yachts, has confirmed the order to build a motor yacht over 55 metres long with a progressive design by Cor D. Rover.

It is not the first, but one of the very few motor yachts in Royal Huisman's portfolio. The lead time for the "Phi" project was correspondingly long. Despite the futuristic design, the proportions are subordinate to Phi, the irrational numerical value of the golden ratio. The London-based interior designers from Lawson Robb are designing the interior, which is to be packed with a range of technical innovations. The hydrodynamic engineers at Van Oossanen provide the data for the "Fast Displacement XL" hull, which can reach speeds of up to 22 knots. The owner chose Royal Huisman, among others, because the sailing yacht shipyard specialises in creating elaborate interiors in confined spaces. The aluminium yacht with a gross tonnage of less than 500 can accommodate the owner couple, ten guests and eleven crew members. Project "Phi" will be delivered in 2021.
