Members of the DMYV Sports Boat Association can take part in an exclusive tour of the Bavaria Yachts shipyard
On 17 April, members of the Sport Boat Association (SBV) in the German Motor Yacht Association (DMYV) will be given an exclusive insight into the world of modern boat and yacht building at the Bavaria Yachtwerft shipyard in Giebelstadt, Franconia.

The 200,000 square metre shipyard site is home to four production lines, each 125 metres long, a state-of-the-art joinery for the complete fitting out of yachts and two halls for the production of hulls and decks. Around 700 employees produce over 600 sailing and motor yachts here every year. The origins of Bavaria Yachts date back to 1978, when window manufacturer and yachtsman Winfried Hermann decided to set up a yacht shipyard on the site of the window factory. At a time when most boats and yachts were still being built individually, he had an innovative idea: to produce yachts on an industrial scale and offer them at an attractive price in order to enable a broad customer base to purchase a new yacht.

The Sport Boat Association is the largest association in the DMYV and is aimed in particular at boaters who do not belong to a local boat club. Information and registration for the boatyard tour with the subject Shipyard tour by e-mail to: haegermann@sbv.de
Registration deadline is 24 March 2024.
