Francesco Paszkowski created the lines of the aluminium format, while Margherita Casprini supported him with the interior design. After "Vertige" (issue 5/18), "Binta d'Or" is the second unit based on the S501 platform and the first with hybrid drive. Furthermore, construction number two is based on a five-cabin layout instead of a six-cabin layout. Another first for Tankoa's 50-metre model series is the touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck.
Two MTU eight-cylinder engines, each with a moderate output of 895 kilowatts, support two 300-kilowatt electric motors. In diesel-electric mode, the flat four-decker with a volume of just under 500 gross tonnes accelerates to 10.5 knots. In hybrid mode, it can reach twelve knots, with the diesels only a maximum of 16.5 knots, and all systems together result in a top speed of 18 knots. Following sea trials, Tankoa will be exhibiting "Binta d'Or" at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019 in September.
