When the Italian shipyard presented the first unit of the Oasis 40M, its success became clear unusually quickly: thirteen 40-metre units were sold in a very short space of time. What was even more interesting was that owners also repeatedly showed interest in the spacious and expandable aft deck, but for whom the 40 metre length did not suit their requirements or budget. Benetti therefore adapted the Oasis concept developed with Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD) to initially 50, 66 and 34 metres. On board the Oasis 34M, the deck also comprises five key elements: firstly, it offers an unrestricted 270-degree view from the saloon; secondly, it has an infinity pool integrated into the stern, which is almost level with the waterline. Thirdly, folding bulwarks create a terrace-like deck area that is also high enough to offer protection from waves. Fourthly, the design team has succeeded in creating a coherent social area that extends from the sofas in the saloon to the bathing platform. And fifthly, the aft lounge furniture is orientated towards the sea. Overall, according to Benetti, the Oasis concept offers 30 to 40 per cent more usable space on deck.

Despite its shorter length and 100 gross tonnes less volume than the original Oasis model, the 7.70 metre wide Oasis 34M still has a veritable tender garage and five spacious cabins for ten guests. For continuity within the series, Benetti once again collaborated with the New York interior designers from Bonetti/Kozerski. However, to give the 34M its own relaxed ambience, the designers chose lighter colours and textures. In addition, the arrangement of the dining area on the upper deck emphasises a casual approach.

After the launch in Viareggio, test runs are on the programme. Two ten-cylinder diesels from MTU's 2000 series, each producing 1015 kilowatts, will then propel the 200-tonne GRP construction to a top speed of 16 knots. At a speed of ten knots, the PLANA and Benetti designers anticipate a range of 2700 nautical miles.
