The 61-metre steel and aluminium structure was built at Royal Hakvoort Shipyard for a US owner and according to full design plans by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design.

The owner's representative said that their client had spent five years looking for a suitable shipyard before deciding on the 101-year-old family business from Monnickendam - partly because of the charm and character of the Royal Hakvoort shipyard, which specialises in one-offs. The Dutch yacht builders created 2.40 metre high ceilings on the main deck and the owner's deck above, as well as a fireplace on the sundeck. Twelve guests and 19 crew members spend the night on board. What makes "Top Five II" an explorer: a hull reinforced to ice class 1D, Naiad zero-speed fin stabilisers, ECDIS navigation information system and a FarSounder forward-looking sonar.

"Top Five II" is the seventh project that Hakvoort has realised together with Moran Yacht & Ship. The US-Dutch cooperation will next produce the sister project "Asia", which is also 61 metres long. In Monnickendam, work is also progressing on the 45 metre long "Adur".
