Since the Italian brand became part of the Ferretti Group, the Wallytender portfolio in particular has been growing. We present the three models.

With their characteristically angular hulls, stealth-like discs and all-round fender strips, Wally's powerboats are just as iconic as the innovative sailing yachts. For last year's launch of the first 48Wallytender Wally founder Luca Bassani said: "This boat is marvellous proof that the very special design DNA of Wally continues to exist under Ferretti's direction."

One year later, the Monegasque brand and the shipyard group headquartered in Forlì present the concept of the 43 Wallytender in front. With its glazed centre console, the 13.20 metre long dayboat is even more reminiscent of the first custom tenders from Wally. The protection extends almost all the way to the stern and encloses the cockpit. The T-top forms a carbon frame that covers a laminated, semi-transparent sail - a nod to Wally's sail formats.

Below deck there is a cabin with a surprising bathroom with standing height and a separate shower. Upstairs, two Volvo Pentas, each with 280 or optionally 324 kilowatts, are directed from standing seats. The diesel engines accelerate the carbon fibre hull to 36 and 40 knots respectively. The standard equipment of the 43 Wallytender The options include LED backlighting on the teak deck, the side-folding bulwark and the hydraulic anchor system that moves into the bow at the touch of a button. The options package includes a generator, air conditioning, gyro stabiliser and floating ladder-passerelle hybrids.

The hull colour is another cross-reference to sailing: "Gator Green" is a reminder of Luca Bassani's first "Wallygator", which was also green but did not have a metallic paint finish.

Although only slightly longer at 14.50 metres, the 48 Wallytender significantly more space. In consultation with Luca Bassani, the Ferretti engineers increased the freeboard compared to existing floating Wally powerboats, creating space for a spacious double cabin complete with bed, seating area and shower cubicle. Nevertheless, life takes place al fresco. The cockpit offers a dining area for four to six guests, a galley line and a voluminous sunpad with a view aft. The bulwark folds down to the side when required, significantly increasing the usable area. Aft, the passerelle also functions as a bathroom staircase. Wide gangways and high sides ensure a high level of safety, making the 48 Wallytender is also an extremely suitable family weekender.

Sun protection on the foredeck and aft deck is provided by optional biminis, which are held in position by carbon fibre supports. When underway, the poles are stowed in a small "garage" under the seat bench. There is also space for a pair of water skis, Seabobs or an inflatable SUP board in the cockpit locker. In terms of drive technology, the 48 Wallytender The 11.5 tonne GRP glider is powered by two 650 IPS units from Volvo Penta, which together generate 714 kilowatts and give it a top speed of 38 knots. With a tank capacity of 1400 litres, the range is 305 nautical miles at a speed of 32 knots.

If this top speed is not enough for you, you should use the 48 Wallytender X into consideration. Four Verado 450Rs from Mercury Racing hang from her stern. The outboards provide a total of 1344 kilowatts of power and enable 55-knot cruising. Wally's X model is likely to be particularly popular on the US powerboat market.
