Wally Yachts is once again - and as usual - making an exciting design statement. The 27.05 metre long and 7.66 metre wide Why200 is said to have a total of 50 percent more living space than comparable formats. At least on the main deck, this is due to the absence of side decks, a trend that seems to be en vogue at the moment. In bare figures, for example, the living space on the main deck measures 100 square metres, of which 61 square metres are allocated to the saloon. The owner uses a further 37 square metres in a very exposed position. Wally installed his suite in the bow area and glazed it generously to allow an unobstructed view ahead and to the side. Three or four guest cabins are spread over the lower deck; the crew area with a total area of 32 square metres is set and well dimensioned.
Laurent Giles is responsible for the construction of the standard 20-knot yacht, which is equipped with four IPS units; construction number one, which is to be presented in Monaco in September, will have a Vallicelli interior. To satisfy the demand for shaded al-fresco areas, Wally is having long overhangs installed on the decks.
