The Hydra Spyder combines the characteristics of a fast sports car with those of a powerful motorboat. The amphibious vehicle offers space for four people and reaches remarkable speeds both on land and in the water.

According to the manufacturer, the Hydra Spyder can reach speeds of over 200 km/h on the road. On the water, the vehicle glides over the surface at speeds of up to 46 knots (approx. 85 km/h). This performance is made possible by a 6.0-litre V8 engine from Chevrolet. The LS2 engine comes from the Corvette and produces 400 hp (294 kW) at 6000 rpm. The maximum torque of 542 Newton metres is available at 4000 rpm.

Equipment

Power is transmitted to the front wheels on land via a manual 5-speed gearbox with a short ratio. The final drive ratio is 3.73:1, which should ensure good acceleration values. With an unladen weight of around 1500 kg, the Hydra Spyder is relatively light for an amphibious vehicle. The hull is made of aluminium, the superstructure - the body - of plastic. A jet provides propulsion in the water. According to the manufacturer, foamed areas of the body guarantee sufficient buoyancy.

How the Hydra Spyder can be used

The Hydra Spyder is aimed at water sports and car enthusiasts who are looking for a versatile vehicle for use on land and water. The combination of high performance and amphibious capabilities makes it possible to drive straight from the beach or a ramp into the water without having to change vehicles.
