"Expect the unexpected!" - That's what it says on the Aquaspirit boat manufacturer's website. We were able to see for ourselves and can say: the sentence fits. The only thing the three boats have in common is the aluminium hull. First insights from the test
It's cold, rainy and windy. Sounds like a good day to go inflatable boating on the North Sea in early November. The manufacturer Aquaspirit provided us with three boats to test, which couldn't be more different. The flagship S700 is built for a cosy yet sporty cruise. Features such as a refrigerator, two plotters and a good Fusion music system are just some of the long list of equipment.
The S530 is completely different: the boat is a typical inflatable boat for the fire brigade, DLRG or THW. The aluminium hull is low-maintenance and well made. There is no refrigerator or anything similar on board. But if you want, you can add various extras to turn it into a real excursion boat for lake or coastal waters. The colour of the tube and various equipment features can be selected from a palette.
The exact opposite and the boat that surprised us most positively was the S585. This boat was equipped with a 140 hp Suzuki outboard motor, has a very sporty ride and is reminiscent of an assault boat used by the German army for civilian purposes. In terms of manoeuvrability and acceleration, however, it is certainly in no way inferior to such military boats.
Based on our initial findings, we can say that all three inflatable boats are well made and have good handling characteristics. The detailed test report will follow.
