Since it was founded in 2019, Arksen has become a brand with many faces. British tech entrepreneur Jasper Smith now offers adventure travel, outdoor clothing, land vehicles, aluminium boats in cooperation with XO Boats and, of course, yachts under the name. With a 85-foot explorer made of aluminium, the Arksen saga began.
For the latest branch, it's back to the maritime world and, as usual, robust and adventurous. Only with RIBs. The first in the Discovery series is the Arksen 8, with a 257-kilowatt V6 outboard from Yamaha and a tank with a capacity of 495 litres for fast and extended tours in the great outdoors. The eight-metre-long RIB is designed to cover 350 nautical miles in one go. This is a remarkable figure, which also speaks in favour of using it as a chase boat, i.e. a "travelling" tender. Handrails and a step just above the tube facilitate fast and continuous boarding via the bow. Up to five people can sit on the foredeck, while the bar and grill are located behind the centre console with its long textile top.
The shipyard was founded by Jasper Smith, who had previously established PlayJam, a leading global platform for online games. His father Ron Smith helped the civilian version of the Mini Moke to achieve considerable popularity. He was the world's largest dealer of the Mini-based off-road vehicle. In it, Ron Smith drove his wife and little Jasper across the Alps to Calabria and laid the foundations for his love of adventure and motoring. However, Arksen does not stock Mini Mokes. The programme includes modified Land Rovers and Unimogs in camper format.
