Hardtops offer more protection from the weather than open cockpits - sounds good in our part of the world! Bavaria's Sport 34 is now also available "with top".

The basic model, Bavarias The "open" Sport 34 made its highly acclaimed debut last trade fair season. Now the shipyard from Giebelstadt has followed up with the hardtop version. It was presented to the public for the first time at the annual match race event on Lake Constance.

This development comes as no surprise: hardtop yachts are becoming more and more popular, and more and more manufacturers are offering their boats in a closed version. The advantages are obvious - especially in northern European climes with changeable weather and cooler temperatures than in the Mediterranean. The solid roof protects against wind, rain and sometimes even too much sun. In addition, the slim silhouette sets its own visual accents.

The Bavaria Sport 34 HT is 10.80 metres long and weighs from 6300 kg empty. Numerous engine options are available, with a maximum of two petrol engines with 320 hp each or two diesel engines with 300 hp each. Below deck there are two cabins (one in the bow, the other amidships) and a wet room. The compact saloon combines galley and seating area with table.

Christian Tiedt was born in Hamburg in 1975, but grew up in the northern suburbs of the city - except for numerous visits to the harbor, North Sea and Baltic Sea, but without direct access to water sports for a long time. His first adventures then took place on dry land: With the classics from Chichester, Slocum and Co. After completing his vocational training, his studies finally gave him the opportunity (in terms of time) to get active on the water - and to obtain the relevant licenses. First with cruising and then, when he joined BOOTE in 2004, with motorboats of all kinds. In the meantime, Christian has been able to get to know almost all of Europe (and some more distant destinations) on his own keel and prefers to share his adventures and experiences as head of the travel department for YACHT and BOOTE in cruise reports.
