The cabin cruiser has a long tradition in England, and Broom from Norfolk has been there from the very beginning. So tradition counts - see the new 35 Coupé.

Brundall in the Norfolk Broads is the home of Broom Boats ; boats for leisure on the water have been built there for almost 120 years. For a long time made of wood, then - innovatively - from the "sixties" onwards also made of plastic. The traditional model is the spaciouscabin cruiser with aft cabin, perfect for the inland waterways and coastal areas of England. The type was so successful and popular that it has changed little to this day and has inspired entire series of charter boats on both sides of the English Channel.

In the meantime, of course, Broom has gone one step further, and even though they are sticking to the traditional, the exterior on and below deck is contemporary and modern in design - even if you shouldn't expect Mediterranean lines, of course. Why should you? After all, north-west Europe has completely different weather conditions.

The new Broom 35 Coupé, for example, dispenses with the aft cabin in favour of a spacious, fully enclosed saloon with an aft cockpit. The shipyard offers three variants for the interior layout of the 10.70 metre long cabin cruiser: one with two cabins (or four berths; in addition to the double cabin in the bow, there is a second with a bunk bed on the starboard side), the second with a longer saloon that is pulled further forward and a shower cabin separate from the toilet, and the third with a larger galley.

The weight is given as eight tonnes and the engine options range from 60 hp for leisurely inland cruising to 360 hp for coastal cruising, including a power reserve for safety. The latter option should even make the GRP displacer a semi-glider - if you are not afraid of high fuel consumption...
