The Finnish archipelago and lakes are beautiful (and almost endless) territory. The only thing missing is the right boat for exploring it! One tempting option is the new Combo 38 from Comboboats. Behind this "combination" is an extraordinary houseboat that, with CE category C, can also cope well with a little more wave action.
The catamaran's solid and seaworthy exterior is ensured not only by the robust aluminium hulls, but also by the slightly recessed GRP deckhouse with flybridge. The closed bulwark with attached, all-round railing ensures safety when the going gets a little rough. In calm conditions, the spacious foredeck offers space for a table and chairs.
At the front of the deckhouse is the saloon with seating area, kitchenette and interior helmstand, behind which is a double cabin, the wet room and the standard sauna. There are two further single berths in each of the hulls, so that a total of six people can sleep comfortably on board.
Two 170 hp inboard engines with sterndrives from MerCruiser give the 11.60 m long catamaran a top speed of 23 knots - another example of the successful mix of houseboat and sports boat. The cruising speed is still 15 knots. Thanks to the widely spaced sterndrives, the Combo 38 is easy to manoeuvre despite its 3.98 m width. In case of doubt, a bow thruster, which, like the diesel heater, defroster (and sauna heater, of course), is part of the extensive standard equipment, comes to the rescue.
