In its sports top series, the Finnish manufacturers had previously focused on compact dimensions and stayed below the seven-metre mark. But now the idea has been stretched to a length of 8.52 metres - and the result is a fully-fledged, sporty, medium-sized cabin cruiser, the new 880 ST. The lines of the GRP hull, with its familiar high freeboard, have a Scandinavian robust look, while the hardtop, which is pulled far back but open at the stern, with its large panoramic canopy is extremely sporty.

The passageway in the windscreen to the foredeck is practical (and not commonplace on boats of this type); this saves you having to shimmy around the outside - even if solid handrails are provided everywhere. Also interesting: next to the deck hatch in the foredeck, a second glass element provides natural light below deck. In addition to the wet room, there are a total of four berths in two double cabins. The seating area in the cockpit can be converted into two additional berths.

Flipper is planning one or two outboard engines with a total output of 300 to a maximum of 600 hp to power the empty Category C glider, which weighs around 3000 kg.

Christian Tiedt was born in Hamburg in 1975, but grew up in the northern suburbs of the city - except for numerous visits to the harbor, North Sea and Baltic Sea, but without direct access to water sports for a long time. His first adventures then took place on dry land: With the classics from Chichester, Slocum and Co. After completing his vocational training, his studies finally gave him the opportunity (in terms of time) to get active on the water - and to obtain the relevant licenses. First with cruising and then, when he joined BOOTE in 2004, with motorboats of all kinds. In the meantime, Christian has been able to get to know almost all of Europe (and some more distant destinations) on his own keel and prefers to share his adventures and experiences as head of the travel department for YACHT and BOOTE in cruise reports.
