For the French, the term dayboat is a classic understatement: like its slightly larger predecessor DB/43, the DB/37 is also a fully-fledged motor yacht - a boat where you don't have to do without anything, even if it's just for a day trip.
Okay, one difference remains: even the Jeanneau DB/37 is an open boat. There is no enclosed deckhouse. Only the driving position and galley are protected by the hardtop, which is supported by just one pillar on each side. The rest is wind and freedom - a crucial detail that is certainly justified with a view to the Mediterranean or US sales markets such as Florida. In the Baltic region, the right clothing would be more important.
Purist lines, a striking character, a decidedly sporty style... The DB/37 is an eye-catcher," is how Jeanneau advertises the new boat.
You can agree with that. In addition to the purely visual aspects, however, the functionality of this "true party boat" (also Jeanneau) also emphasises this. In addition to the sporty driving experience, the series scores with its modular aft deck. What serves as a seating area underway becomes a large terrace right on the water with just a few pushes of a button and a few hand movements at anchor. Outward-folding segments of the bulwark in combination with the large bathing platform make this possible. Awnings fore and aft can be set up quickly and protect the ice in the long drink glasses. The seating area can be converted into a sunbathing area.
The layout of the 11.83 metre long Jeanneau DB/37 features a bright owner's cabin with a double berth, which also has direct access to the bathroom with WC and separate shower. The guest cabin also offers two berths and extends amidships across the full hull width of 3.57 metres. The GRP glider is available as a version with inboard engines (2 x Volvo Penta D4-320) or outboards (maximum 2 x 400 hp). With outboards, the bathing platform is smaller, but there is additional storage space under the cockpit.
