C-Researcher 3 was christened by the Dutch from U-Boat Worx their latest development. Like all models in the U-Boat Worx range, the 3.75 metre long submarine has a robust acrylic hull that can dive to depths of up to 1000 metres. Germanischer Lloyd signed the class papers for the 3.9 tonne exploration toy, which allows the pilot and a passenger up to eight hours of diving fun.
Lithium-ion batteries power all electrical systems and supply the horizontal and vertical two-kilowatt thrusters that propel the "C-Researcher 3" above and below water at three knots. The pilot controls the compact hydrosphere explorer precisely using a joystick, while an iPod provides suitable music on request. The internal pressure in the cockpit corresponds to atmospheric pressure and the oxygen reserves last for eight hours (optionally 16 hours). In an emergency, the submarine crew has 96 hours of air.
