FIM (Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi) expands its business area with a tender division. The new division of the shipyard from Cividate al Piano near Bergamo manufactures tenders for guest transfers, escort trips and independent day trips. Each unit is configured according to the customer's wishes: Layout, materials and equipment are based on the operational profile and style of the mother yacht. FIM speaks of an atelier approach in which owners, captains and yacht managers can contribute their requirements directly.

First model with carbon hull

The TT9 Open marks the start of the new series. The 9.40 metre long hull is made of carbon composite material, which reduces the weight. The model is also intended for use as a chase boat, accompanying large yachts or sailing ahead of them to explore bays for anchorages, for example. The first unit goes to the owner of a 70-metre boat. Corrado Piccinelli, founder and Managing Director of FIM, explains: "With the FIM Tender Division, we want to enter a technically sophisticated segment in which the tender is not just a working tool, but part of the experience on board." The shipyard focusses on construction quality and Italian design.

Functional control position and variable deck

The central steering position is compact. It is designed to enable quick reactions when manoeuvring and offer good visibility. According to the shipyard, the carbon structure ensures stable handling even in demanding conditions. The fender moulding integrated into the design provides protection when docking quickly. At the stern, there are opposing benches with a passageway in the centre. This arrangement is intended to make it easier for guests to get on and off the boat. In the bow, a generous seating area provides space during crossings. The configuration can be extended to include sun and weather protection without changing the lines.

Customisation to customer requirements

Manuela Barcella, co-founder and Managing Director of FIM, emphasises the importance of customisation: "Our aim is to develop dinghies that are not only functional, but are also fully integrated into life on board through tailor-made solutions." The shipyard is planning special configurations and customised products. These are intended to fulfil specific requirements in terms of service, protection, privacy and hospitality. The visual harmonisation with the design of the mother yacht is also part of the concept.

Further variants in development

Two additional models are already in development. The TT9 Limo offers more protection and privacy for guest transfers. The TX9 Taxi Tender is also designed for upscale hotel and hospitality applications. Here, transport is seen as part of the overall experience. The shipyard wants to cover a range of different application profiles. All variants are based on the 9.40 metre platform, but differ in terms of design and equipment.
