No reason for Scandinavian restraint: anyone who Nimbus knows that the new 405 Coupé will also be a well-designed boat. Although only computer drawings have been published so far, what can be seen on them is fully in keeping with the style and standard of the traditional Swedish shipyard.
Inspired by the success of the two smaller coupé models 335 and 365 (which won the title of "European Powerboat of the Year" in 2012), the decision was made to offer the concept one size larger. The most important design elements - such as the asymmetrical deck layout with the wide side deck to starboard - were also adopted for the 13.24 metre long 405.
Whether inside or outside - there is plenty of cushioned seating, as usual in a friendly Scandinavian look (and probably also in the familiar good workmanship). The saloon with sliding glass door and large sliding glass roof leads to the lower deck area, which offers a total of six berths in three cabins: two in the bow cabin and two amidships in the lower deck area. There are also two WCs, one of which also has a shower.
According to the shipyard, the 405 Coupé should be "modern, solid and comfortable"; an assessment that should certainly be achieved. But the necessary motorisation is also provided for: there is a choice of two twin Volvo Penta systems, either two D4-300s with a total of 600 hp, or a twin pack of the even more powerful D6-370 with a combined 740 hp. This turns the empty 8800 kg GRP boat into a semi-glider and has enough power reserves to cope with the sea conditions that can be encountered in the CE category B area.

Christian Tiedt was born in Hamburg in 1975, but grew up in the northern suburbs of the city - except for numerous visits to the harbor, North Sea and Baltic Sea, but without direct access to water sports for a long time. His first adventures then took place on dry land: With the classics from Chichester, Slocum and Co. After completing his vocational training, his studies finally gave him the opportunity (in terms of time) to get active on the water - and to obtain the relevant licenses. First with cruising and then, when he joined BOOTE in 2004, with motorboats of all kinds. In the meantime, Christian has been able to get to know almost all of Europe (and some more distant destinations) on his own keel and prefers to share his adventures and experiences as head of the travel department for YACHT and BOOTE in cruise reports.
