Beijing, Berlin, London. Olympic Games, Football World Cup and UEFA Champions League: Thorsten Baering and his camera have been everywhere. His snapshots are unique, his portraits such as those of the Klitschko brothers and Holger Stanislawski legendary. Thorsten Baering was always close to people, showing them as they really are. And not just in his living room, the Millerntor stadium. So the Ludwigsburg native almost inevitably ended up with the St Pauli fans in the BOOTE editorial team.
We from the Gegengerade were proud to know him. Also because of the pictures he took for our magazine. Thorsten's reports on the Dove-Elbe, where his home is located, the yacht forwarders, the steamboat scene and many more undoubtedly belong in the masterpiece category. At some point, he realised that he needed a boat himself. We are still sorry today that his "Meta", a not-so-new steel displacer, quickly mutated into a "care case". Sorry Thorsten!
We say thank you for always being and remaining friends. Thank you for great photos and a great time. We are infinitely sad that you are no longer with us. The "Fotobaer" died in the night of 4 August at the age of 61. One thing is certain Thorsten: "You`ll Never Walk Alone".
