With its layout (open foredeck and centre console) and equipment, the Uttern S55 offers a wide range of leisure options.
It starts with exploration trips, continues with swimming, sunbathing and fishing trips and extends to water skiing and tubing with family or friends up to a maximum of six people.
On which waters can you have this fun? The Swedish boat builders recommend their S55 for inland and coastal waters (CE category C). To transport the boat safely from one area to another by land, the "road captain" needs a 1300 kg trailer, and a Golf or similar car is sufficient for towing.
The shipyard recommends long-shaft outboards up to a maximum of 135 hp for motorisation. As Uttern is part of the Brunswick Group, the price list only includes the Group's own Mercury engines.
However, in addition to the F100 from Mercury, we also used a Suzuki and Yamaha outboard for a comparative test. The detailed test report can be found in BOOTE 7/09.
Naturally, we ran the entire boat test with the Mercury. The power trim should be set to the "down" position in order to get the boat-motor combination gliding as quickly as possible.
