The Activ 535 Open is part of the new Quicksilver line, which has been completely redesigned. We tested the glider for the current issue of BOOTE.

The US parent company Brunswick is shaking up its fleets. This also applies to our test boat Quicksilver Activ 535 Open, an open outboard boat with a central steering position. "Adapting to European tastes and meeting German quality standards" is on the agenda. And this has been more than satisfactorily realised at the shipyard in Poland, giving the entire Quicksilver fleet more than just an attractive appearance.

Our test boat is available with outboard engines from 50 hp. We drive with the maximum motorisation, a 100 hp four-stroke engine, which is moved with the help of a hydraulic control system (extra). It works smoothly across all speeds. However, you need five turns from one side to the other, which largely prevents extreme manoeuvres and requires the skipper to turn. Nevertheless, the boat reacts almost directly in displacement mode and enables precise manoeuvring both forwards and backwards.
