Storebro 435 Sun Top: The convincing result of great Swedish boatbuilding expertise, which is recognised far beyond the borders of Scandinavia.

Storebro is not only a household name among skippers in Scandinavia. In Germany, the motorboats were sold under the name "Adler" for a long time. Initially they were built from ma-hagoni, but since the seventies plastic has dominated.
plastic has dominated since the seventies. The shipyard can now look back on 65 years of experience, which is clearly reflected in the craftsmanship.

Storebro offers boats from 10 to just over 14 metres in length with and without a flybridge. Our test boat, the 435 Sun Top, is typical of this: the same boat is also available with a flybridge, the 435 Commander. Both boats are almost identical in terms of hull and fittings. Since mid-2011, the shipyard has been producing the 435 Sun Top, whose saloon superstructure is slightly lower than that of the Commander, so that bridges are passable on inland waterways within Europe.

Our test boat is equipped with a spacious bow cabin with a large double berth and its own wet room and is reserved for the owner. Under the saloon floor and co-driver's seat, the designer has integrated a cabin that extends across the entire width of the boat and is equipped with two transverse single berths. Another is arranged lengthways on the starboard outer wall. This cabin also has its own bathroom with WC.

If there are more guests on board than can be accommodated in the cabins, the dinette can be converted into a berth. The fact that there is no lack of headroom or storage space in the cabins creates a comfortable living environment, as do the permanently operating ceiling fans in both bathrooms and in the escape hatch of the forward cabin. The mattresses are ventilated underneath and the wardrobes are ventilated. In other words, the cabins are ideally suited for longer stays. The shipyard also equips its 435 Sun Top with a galley that is sure to please every smutje. Glazed all round, three sliding roofs in the ceiling and a glass door to the cockpit leave nothing to be desired in the saloon in terms of light and air.

The full driving report can be found in the current BOOTE 5/12.
