The market for wakeboard boats is hotly contested: with its new Super Air Nautique G23, the US brand wants to herald the next generation.

There is hardly any other type of boat that is as specialised and sophisticated as the wakeboard boat, and certainly none where - strictly speaking - it is not so much about the boat itself, but about what it is pulling behind it: The wake. It has to have a clean edge and plenty of "pop". This is achieved primarily through the shape of the hull and lots of fine details on the underwater hull.

In this area, the wakeboarding specialists from Nautique Boats in the US sunshine state of Florida is now launching the next generation. Instead of taking existing, successful models as a basis, as is often the case, they have designed a completely new boat for the Super Air Nautique G23 on "a blank sheet of paper".

The underwater hull has a specially developed surface, the "Nautique Configurable Running Surface", which can be adjusted to all conditions using the electronic LINC system. Almost 2,500 kg of internal ballast also helps to create the "perfect wave"; the necessary thrust is provided by built-in inboard engines with outputs between 343 and 550 hp.

But even above the waterline, the 7.01 metre-long special sports boat should meet the expectations of the scene in terms of individual style, ergonomic comfort, functionality and, of course, the possible additional equipment from the tower to the sound system.

A total of 16 people are permitted on board, who will find plenty of comfortably upholstered seating in the bow area and cockpit of the bowrider. The interior and exterior colour scheme and finish of this model can of course also be customised to make your own Super Air Nautique G23 unmistakable.

Christian Tiedt was born in Hamburg in 1975, but grew up in the northern suburbs of the city - except for numerous visits to the harbor, North Sea and Baltic Sea, but without direct access to water sports for a long time. His first adventures then took place on dry land: With the classics from Chichester, Slocum and Co. After completing his vocational training, his studies finally gave him the opportunity (in terms of time) to get active on the water - and to obtain the relevant licenses. First with cruising and then, when he joined BOOTE in 2004, with motorboats of all kinds. In the meantime, Christian has been able to get to know almost all of Europe (and some more distant destinations) on his own keel and prefers to share his adventures and experiences as head of the travel department for YACHT and BOOTE in cruise reports.
