The Cigarette Racing Team stands for sports boats in racing trim with guaranteed fun at the highest level. This is due to the genes of the noble shipyard from Opa-locka in Florida. After all, the company was founded in 1970 by racing enthusiast Don Aronow, who had already won several world championship titles with his other creations, including the Formula and Donzi brands.
The success continued with Cigarette. These included legendary boats such as the Blue Thunder catamaran, which was also used by US customs to hunt down drug smugglers in their Cigarette boats. A conflict of interest that may have led to Aronow being shot dead by criminals in his car in Miami in 1987.
His Cigarette Racing Team lives on. The alliance with Mercedes-AMG came about in 2007 due to the racing roots of both companies. As a result, Cigarette regularly produces special models inspired by the race-ready sports cars.
However, the 515 Project ONE is the first completely new design since the launch of the 50' Marauder. The 515 is therefore not only a one-off inspired by AMG, but also the brand's new flagship.
Even if the boats look similar at first glance, this is by no means an extended 50, as the boat has grown by almost half a metre not only in length, but also in width, resulting in an overall 30 percent larger surface area. This is not only noticeable in the more spacious cockpit, but also in the handling.
