What the previousDelphia motorboats common, one finds in the newEscape 1150 Voyage no longer. While the earlier models resemble a sailing boat in terms of appearance and space concept, the 1150 Voyage is more like a sailing boat,
at the last boot DüsseldorfWorld premiere celebrated,
is a motorboat through and through and clearly appeals to motorboat drivers with its looks.
The10.80 m long and 3.45 m wide hullwas created by the designerTomasz Rosiński was designed. The shipyard relied on its own design studio for the interior. The result is a glider that looks very modern from the outside with plenty of window space. Inside the 1150 Voyage, it quickly becomes clear that a great deal of effort has been put into the design and layout.
Boat life takes place in the light-flooded salonwhere the helm station and galley are also located. The skipper has a good view of everything from the driving position and can access the side deck quickly and easily through the sliding door on the side when locking or mooring.
Behind the steering position is aSeating group. The passenger bench seat can be turned round to create more space. Opposite the seating group with table, which can be converted into an emergency bunk, is thePantry. It has a large work surface and a Four-burner hob with cooker, sink and compressor refrigerator.
If you go down the front companionway, you come to theboth double cabins and theboth fully equipped WC rooms. The owner's cabin is located in the bow. In addition to a wardrobe, the design team has created further storage options above the large window areas with blinds.
Thanks to sufficient headroom, the feeling of space in the front cabin is very good. The same applies to the second double cabin. It is accommodated as an underfloor cabin in the centre of the boat. With a body length of 1.84 metres, you can still stand comfortably in the area of the door and to the side of the bed.
This is because the shipyard arranged the driving position and the saloon bench seat above it. As in the forward cabin, the upholstery in the double berth is nice and firm, the only thing missing is proper ventilation under the mattresses. There is also a wardrobe plus a drawer cabinet for storage. The two toilet compartments are accessed via the corridor between the cabin doors.
In addition to a marine toilet, both have a washbasin with a pull-out shower for showering. You can store your toiletries in the cupboard, which is at eye level and has a mirrored glass front. Fresh air enters both toilet rooms via a porthole.
Three engine options are available. With the 85 hp Nanni N4.85 V-drive, the Escape 1150 Voyage has been specially configured for charter operation on inland waterways and operates in the displacement range at all engine speeds. So if you want to glide, choose one of the Volvo Penta systems. A single engine is available with the D6-370 diesel engine.
If that is not enough, there is still our test engine, a twin system with 450 hp. Two Volvo Penta D4-225 engines with matching Z-drives are installed. Not to forget: In addition to the maximum permitted 450 hp, this option also offers the safety of a second engine and better manoeuvrability in narrow harbours and small bays.
To improve handling when mooring the individual systems, the shipyard has added bow thrusters to the standard list.
With the 450 hp, you can make rapid progress if you want to - but the tank is empty just as quickly. In the economical range of 3000 rpm (23 kn), one tank of fuel (300 litres) is enough for a meagre 86 nm until the reserve is reached. You can only go further in displacement: 162 nm at 8 knots. It is therefore important to make good use of the fuel in order to make distance.
We have to praise the good workmanship. The GRP makes a good impression. In the engine compartment, which can only be opened electrically (by pressing a button), you have to look very carefully to find gaps in the protective coating. When installing the engine and technology, the routine of the Polish boat builders is evident; all cable harnesses and hoses are laid in such a way that they do not chafe.
The 1150 Voyage is moored to the appropriately sized cleats. The easiest way to attach the fenders is to the sturdy railing. The motto "a lot helps a lot" applies here, as the rubbing strake is rather small.
Conclusion
The Escape 1150 Voyage clearly stands out visually from the brand's other models. The lines and layout are very modern. The space concept with the large saloon is impressive. Although the 1150 Voyage has CE category B approval, it only has a 300 litre fuel tank.
